summary

A change in perspective

For the 2022 CES Hyundai gave the first glimpse to a set of new "meta machines" that plan to revolutionize entire industries when it comes to mobility.

core idea

The Stage

Bringing humans and machines together on a stage seemed to be the natural attitude when the intent is to familiarize and establish a connection between man and machine. Fear of unknown was the topic to play with, however different it may sound.

key moves

a large monolithic exterior soften by the mirror treatment of the outer skin, is the first contrast we worked with. Large but blent into the surrounding.

The “stage” is surrounded by 4m LED walls to create a uniform environment and a compelling atmosphere, to support the interaction between man and machine.

An interactive experience was design behind the stage. This gave visitors the possibility to join the world of the machines a parallel reality, the metaverse.

my role

Design and development of the design, up to the final stages. The process implied several rounds of ideation, design development, and detail design.

outcome

The greatest part of the exhibition was its focus. It managed to be different and to stand close to its core by nurturing this interaction and nothing more. No cars, no other services or products, just a timeless memory for the visitors where man and machine meet.
