summary
Sustainability on the road
The brief was to design a traveling structure that could bring Škoda's EV range to cities across Europe — one that didn't just display the vehicles, but reflected the brand values behind them. Simply Clever wasn't only a design prompt; it was a challenge to build something that worked smarter, left a lighter footprint, and made the case for electric mobility through the structure itself.
core idea
A trusting future
The concept set out to build trust in EV technology through simple, tangible means — not through claims, but through experience. The structure was designed to become a temporary urban landmark: something that offered visitors a new perspective on the city while communicating transparently about sustainability.
A 5×5×5 modular grid forms the base — flexible enough to adapt to different urban locations. The grid is tilted to create a ramp where cars and people share the same path upward. A corner is cut away at ground level, opening the structure into a courtyard that draws visitors in before they enter.
a 5x5x5 modular grid is used to accommodate the needs for the pop up.
The resulted structure is playfully tilted to create a ramp where cars can perform.
Access to the platform is offered by cutting off the lowest corner.
Through this corner the space opens into a courtyard that allows visitors to gather and enter the space .
key moves
A New Road
A green park extends from street level up the ramp, where pedestrians and electric vehicles move together. The silence of the EV — no combustion, no exhaust — becomes part of the experience rather than a footnote.
Exhibition
Beneath the green driveway, the underside of the structure houses exhibition spaces and meeting rooms — shaded, sheltered, and activated by the movement happening above.
The Courtyard
The open courtyard at the corner entrance serves as a decompression zone — an informal gathering space that sets the tone before visitors move into the exhibition proper.
